View to the city
Gallery pavilion, Liverpool
This brief was to design a pavilion in Everton park, which would showcase and celebrate the city through exhibitions – in particular film & media. It would contain four specific areas – a place of reception, gathered space, elevated space and a space with serial engagement within it. The pavilion is made up from two different sections; the entrance is very elegant, an organic shape made from timber and glass, whilst the gallery is a series of hard, angular ‘visiting’ boxes each showcasing a different exhibition. The further you delve into the pavilion the more structured it becomes, referencing to the city itself and urbanisation.
